The Gold Standard Regenerative Injectable

From Harper's Bazaar to multiple Mother's groups everyone is talking about polynucleotides!

Why? Because they are Natural, Offer Incredible and Visible Results with, after almost 2 million treatments worldwide, virtually no adverse or allergic reactions.

Retriva's Dr. Hayley Magill  says that not only are polynucleotides natural with antioxidant properties reducing inflammation but unlike other injectables and fillers they stimulate the body to produce more collagen and elastin - The items that lift skin and provide youthful volume. Even better, they have multiple other benefits including but not limited to:

  • Natural anti-ageing skin revitalisation
  • Rehydrates dull skin
  • Reduces hyperpigmentation, atrophic scars, stretch marks, deep lines and wrinkles
  • Reduces facial redness or rosacea
  • Reduces acne
  • Reduces Alopecia or hair loss

What are polynucleotides? In simple terms they are injectable bio-stimulators that kickstart dermal rejuvenation at a cellular level. The injectable molecules are made from fish (salmon) fragments that replicate human deoxynucleic acid (DNA) and stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin. Even better, polynucleotide injections also act as an antioxidant whilst hydrating the skin. The result is amazing, treated areas look entirely natural because the body has been stimulated to produce its own new collagen and elastin.

The are different to hyaluronic acid skin boosters such as Revanesse, Teoxane and Belotero in that they stimulate targeted areas to produce new collagen and elastin. This fact means that in a similar way to non-surgical skin lifting treatments such as Ultherapy and Thermage FLX (albeit not in such a comprehensive manner) the skin can literally turn back the clock without the need to resort to fillers.

Polynucleotide Treatments

Why  Polynucleotide Treatments are storming the Aesthetics Sector, by

- Dr. Hayley Magill BMBS, B. Med.Sci, PGCME (Disc.) -

What areas can be treated?

Polynucleotides can be used in many areas but the most popular are around the eyes, face, neck, jawline and cheekbones.

Can it be used with other energy based treatments such as Thermage FLX & Ultherapy?

Yes, in fact the combination of these collagen and elastin stimulating treatments can produce excellent, long-term and natural results. In the US, and of course here at Retriva Chelsea, our aesthetic doctors have successfully combined these treatments as there is a perfect synergy with the energy based treatments covering larger areas for a longer period whilst polynucleotide's can target smaller problem areas - The results often being transformative!

How long does it take and is it painful?

A polynucleotide treatment is normally carried out in 2-3 sessions  spaced out over a 2 week period. The process itself takes only around 5 minutes, stings a little and generally doesn’t involve any bruising although a post-treatment ice pack may be recommended.

When will the results be visible? Normally after the second session changes will start to become apparent but as polynucleotides are stimulating the body’s own production of collagen and elastin around 12 weeks is normally the time it takes to see the optimum results.

How long will the treatments last? It is recommended that treatment is repeated every 6 months to maintain results.

Who can carry out such procedures?
Without any doubt, any form of injectables should be carried out by a General Medical Council registered doctor with appropriate specialised training such as Retriva’s Dr. Hayley Magill. Why? Because, only a fully qualified medical practitioner will be able to identify contraindications and are subject to regulatory supervision.

Is it safe? Because the treatment is not gel based and uses natural products, polynucleotides are extremely safe but like all treatments can have side-effects including bruising and swelling.

How much do treatments cost? Single aesthetic doctor led treatments generally around £450.00 based on using a 2ml syringe but additional savings can be made when buying session packs (Please see our Fee Schedule for more information).
